Hi all,
I'm Chris, a 21 engineering graduate (fire and explsions no less!) from Leeds. I'm Drezha on most forums (only airsoft one I use is ASCUK)
Been into 40K since I was at secondary school but took a 3 year break during uni (money had better thinks to be spent on, like beer and living ;D). Got back into it after walking into a GW to buy some ink to paint my newly krylon'd USP AEP. Ended up walking out with Eisenhorn trilogy and my ink and now I'm back in the hobby again with a guard army. Collected Dark Angels, Emperor's Children and Tau before I left, also with a smattering of cadians and crimson fists. For me, the hobbies best bit is the fluff.
Been an airsofter almost as long as I've been a warhammer fan. I enjoy it and have been playing at MIA in Cornwall whilst I was at home and since I started uni and graduated, I've been played at Cereberus, Phoenix urban and I try to regularly attend Airsoft Commadno games. I like my Russian kit and I own a multitude of Russian camo and gear.
Never really had and experience with LARP/RP. Have played a heavily themed Firefly airsoft day which was great fun and did actually contain themes of RP in it. I'm keen to try more RP based airsoft games and was always tempted by NEXUS but never got to attend due to money and other issues.
Anyhow, that's me and here I am, looking to join in and see if I cant get an Imperial Guard loadout together and talk with some like minded people.

Chris,
Welcome indeed.
The 9th Loadout is simple at a base level.
1) ACU BDU’s dyed with Dylon #34 (that’s – shirt, trousers & cap, no boonies). 2) Black LC2 webbing set 3) WWII German gaiters
That’s it.
Optional extras are:
Converted AEG Rifle Green Beret Flecktarn flak vest WWII German camo poncho Canvas rucksack (again, WWII based).
All that said, nothing to stop you making up one of your own!

Cheers both. I've read the kitlist over on the Yahoo group and I'm looking at doing some when I can afford to get some ACU. Quick look around and flecktarn seems to be the ideal place for it, getting me the ACU for about £25 (BULLE copy mind). The lasgun conversion looks great and I want one myself but again, that'll have to wait longer than the ACU (as it's optional) but I will get one ASAP because I don't reckon the guard loadout would look to good with an AK! BTW, I no mention of how the flash hider/fore end was made in the conversion article. Is that just done using tubing? So am I right in thinking this is more a LARP based affair than airsoft? If it is, I may take some easying in but I look forward to it as I enjoy themed airsoft so much more than just a general game day (even though, those are good fun )

Hello all. My name is Jake and I have been a 40K player for about 10 years now, costuming for at least 5 and airsofting for 2. I have always wanted to do a costume based on the old cadian (when the were metal) and stumbled across this group when looking for ideas for an airsoft Lasgun. While it is very unlikely that I will get to actually play with you all, I have enjoyed looking at the cool costumes and props that have been made by the members. While Im here I thought I could share some of the things that I have done. My first (and crude) attempt at making a lasgun: And more recently made, a padded weapon chainsword. I hope to have a full imperial guard airsoft loadout sometime in the nearish future.

Welcome!
Those are pretty accurate for first attempts. Search the forums for the work our German friends are doing, of a similar vein to that.
Any questions, feel free to ask! ;D

Hi All Used to play 40K (Orks) have done LARP before but never sci fi.
I am 27 male and live near Mansfield in the East Midlands so if there is any gamers out there that want to have a game drop me a line.
Also do you run LARP events in my neck of the woods?

Welcome indeed.
We are currently attempting to gain sufficient membership to make an event viable. Recent activity to hold an event at Gunman Airsoft wasn’t well responded too unfortunately (our 9th Scarovar group responded well but few others) so had to be cancelled.
Core of our membership is in the South East of the UK but members are spread throughout so we will aim to hold an event quite centrally (Mansfield’s quite well placed to be honest).
Add to the project, it’s a project at the moment still, download and read the rules set and input on that as well.
Keep looking and we’ll attempt another event in 2009.

Hi, I'm Rob AKA Cat (A nickname I got from the gathering many years ago) OK, I've played 40K since school over two decades ago , mainly Marines and guard. Been LARPing for about 14 years in quite few systems, LT, Omega, stargate, F&H plus a few local ones. Got into Vietnam re-enacting 5 years ago, started in a 1st AirCav group and now in a 101st LRRP group, through this I started Airsofting this year. That the cool bits, otherwise I'm a factory temp, living near Alfreton.

I'm Matt from Ilford in East London. No idea exactly how I ended up here (I have a vague recollection of following a link from TMP), but I see some familiar faces (well usernames) already.
I'm short on Airsoft experience, although I have played Lazer Tag with the UKLTA at several events. Thanks to some patience, I'm now almost able to hit a barn at ten feet. I also have a strong interest in costuming and can frequently be found watching the last 30 seconds of an auction because I *REALLY* need another '37 Pattern belt that's too small for me.
I haven't played any 40K ruleset since the 2nd edition, although I continue to find the background interesting, so much so that I've bought and read many of the terrible novels that continue to delve it's depths. Apart from that, I play assorted tabletop games (Fairymeat, Wargods, WAB etc) and am currently writing a Star Trek ship-to-ship combat game so simple it can be played drunk.
