Welcome Matt, by whatever method you found us you are welcome and I’m sure with your mix of experience you’ll find a section here you can join in on.
Costume – yeah, plenty of 40k inspired costumes here on the go. Mainly Imperial Guard based (lets face it that’s the easiest!) through to a Tau concept.
There has been some discussion about laser-tag also but there were some practical barriers due to the events being planned for outdoor sites.
Plenty of people here into tabletop games of varying sorts as well so it sounds like you’ll fit in well. Have a look at the proposed Live Role Play rules as well as our ultimate aim it to make the world of 40k come to life!

Hey Matt!
Would you be 'Mattypants' from the Firefight forum? If you are, hey dude, I'm H-Bird from the same. Sure we've met at some 'Tag' event in the last couple of months. Welcome!
(Outdoors isn't the problem with Lazer Tag; not with most of our guns having a 80-150 metre range. It's indoors where you get the problem with reflected IR boucing off the walls and killing everyone, including yourself!)

Aitch, I would indeed!
Manius, been feeling a bit of a "Blood Pact" thing myself; cheap badly dyed red coveralls, set of LC2 webbing and assorted bones, trinkets, spiky bits etc, possibly with a set of black gaiters. I seem to remember finding airsoft masks styled after the Immortals in 300 which might pass for suitable masks.
As regarding 'Tag outside, even the original 80's gear managed up to 20m outside. Some more "enthusiastic" players gear can hit a target easily over 100m away with no deflection due to wind! Although we do have a slight problem with water, snow etc reflecting IR back...

Actually the main problem “I” encountered with IR Tag is knowing what the hells happening!!
Lol
Half the time I didn’t know if I hit a player or I’d been hit or I’d run out of ammo. I stand to be converted though!

Matt - Blood Pact could be an interesting costume all right, plus you can use some tactics rather than the usual 'charge at them screaming' Khornate thing!
Tag wise, most of the newer sensors have leds that flash green briefly when you're hit. Makes it a bit easier.

Aitch, the last time I used anything approaching tactics, we died 3 times in 10 metres during the Wolfenstein game. I might get further charging entrenched weapons positions with nothing more than a standard issues Imperial flashlight and a pointy stick.

Greetings to all the loyal Imperial citizens! My name is Konstantinos (Kostas for short ) and i live in Greece! For the past 7 years or so i`ve been playing Warhammer, with a bigger preference on the fantasy side in regards to the gaming component.Even though i find WFB strategically more challenging than 40K, i have always been in love with the rich background of Mankind`s grim future! I have already collected a big Imperial Guard army so far, and in conjuction with my new craze Airsoft, i believe that you can see where this is going! I have always wanted to have my own Lasgun version of an AEG, and only just a couple of days ago i came by your site by mere luck!I am hoping to start my own conversion soon and any help will be highly appreciated!

Greetings to you citizen,
Kostas I’ve approved your account so you can have fuller access, we have many projects and the lasgun one is such that we have completed examples of. You may also be interested in the work our friends in Germany are doing with regards a Cadian “look”.
The main reason behind the forum is to introduce a Live Role Play system based on Warhammer 40k, based in the UK, but there is lots to interest most people as well.
Message me if you need any more help or information.

Hey guys, yet another 40k/airsoft fan in the house! The name is Jon K, I'm originally from Springfield IL(US), but I'm now living in Columbus OH(US). I've been playing airsoft for 5 years, however only 3(up to 2008) of those years have been serious/MilSim/Organized type events. I found this website through a search of G36 parts, which led me to a UK community site about your guard regiment that you were trying to start. Currently my arsenal contains a TM M4(getting a makeover ATM), a TM VSR(G-Spec, and a KSC M92f. My G-spec is consistently shooting 388(age limit here , nothing over 400FPS for minors), and I ran my TM M4 in the upper 390's for over a year. Thats about it as far as airsoft goes. As for Tabletop games, I started out with a few Wood Elves(in-between Codexes, so I used the ooooolllld one), just played with a few friends in their basement. A few years after that I started to collect IG. First were the brand new Cadian models, got a 500 list done, just so I could play with the guys at the local hobby store. Then I split a Tau battleforce boxset to get a friend in the game. By this time I had a 1000pt list for my IG, so I figured I could start to branch off a little. I bought a few more Tau(500pts worth), to run in a tourney(750pt tourney), then I almost sold my whole collection for airsoft money. I ket a 50pt list and a squad of firewarriors JIC though. Now I'm back into tabletop, but this time I'm running with some Vostroyan's. I plan on making some transports here soon to make the first AirCav Vostroyan's(to my knowledge). I really want to start a similar IG airsoft team here in the US, so I came here so I cold learn from the pros! I like how you used the G36 with the new magwell, if only they made a G36 in 7.62. . Have you guys thought about using the G3 varients? I'm guessing that very little would have to be done to that for a Las-Gun looking rifle. Well I'm really glad I found you guys, Im off to read about the LRP(I'm new to LRP), cya guys around. sticks

Welcome our friends over the “pond”!
G36 conversion is quite well documented in the forums so please look to that. Most of the other G3’s tend to look too round and old to make a convincing conversion.
We have developed several other options, though they are not officially adopted by the 9th Scarovar group itself, by using M14’s as sniper/Ratling rifles and the SCAR-L is actually a good base also.
There are now two versions of the magwell available – one which we’ve used and one which just “plugs into” the G36 magwell. Both have their problems unfortunately but none are game breakers!
Members in other countries are free to use the LRP system I have developed for us here as well, or parts thereof to help lift a regular Mil-SIM game. At the end of the day, we’re glad to help and be a point of reference.
Manius ;D
