Well I believe this thread is supposed to be for work in progress and other stuff, so I thought I'd better post some piccies of my semi finished Lasgun and web gear... Lasgun is a Jing Gong G36c with a hooky chinese 'K' foregrip and the parts kindly supplied by Tread. I've gone for the 'high mount' variant purely as I wear spectacles, and so with goggles on I can't see down the iron sights of the 'low mount' version. (OK, the red dot scope is there purely for pose value). With the lack of cheap battery stocks available, it's staying as a skeleton stock lasgun at the moment, although I could plasticard over the holes to make it solid. Webbing is pretty much as discussed, although I've gone for the vietnam era M56 ammo pouches, as they're designed to fit the 20 round short mags we're using for the gun. I know we've not settled on an E-tool properly, so I've put my German one on the belt. Took the lasgun out on a game a few weeks back. Shooting at 330-340, and seems to be working fine for a cheapsoft. Comments useful as ever. H / Stamper

Aitch - perfect use of the thread. And a good loadout, whilst I've got all the LC2 webbing I've still got to stencil the aquila on it and I'm without a lasgun of any sort.
Does look good.

Ta guys.
Should also point out that the bayonet isn't exactly 'canon' either. It's an LRP rubber M9 bayonet copy made by 'Kin Cheap' in a Viper scabard. (Put on to fill out the webbing). I think the plan is to go for longer 'sword bayonet' style blades in the Napoleonic style that can be used as short swords, but we're still looking for a suitable LRP-safe copy.

*rules hat on*
Aitch – that’s correct. Currently due to OOC safety conditions rising from a combination of LRP blades just not being “stab safe” and bayonets being fitted to the barrel of expensive AEG’s we’re going along the lines of the shortsword for hand-to-hand as a personal choice for guardsmen.
….bum…I’ve got to write rules for shields I’ve just realised! Someone’s bound to want to use one.

Hehe, Scarovian Heavy Infantry use shields on their gun support arm. Sort of the like the Tau shoulderpad, but broader and intentionally covering more of the body. Also on the arm....not the shoulder...

I've now written some proposals I'll put forward shortly, after some more suitable feedback on the rules forum and the question I put there today.

Scarovarian 'Heavy Infantry'? Have I missed something in the background somewhere? I thought the 9th were Mech Infantry? Is this a different Regiment forming?

One planet would have differing kinds of infantry. The 9th regiment is light mechanized. The 10th could be heavy.. An easy example, the US military, the USMC are Heavy Infantry, but regular army isn't.

Where did you get those M56 pouches? Were they black originally? I really need some, as do a lot of us others, I believe...

Lex - the standard 9th webbing is "off the shelf" LC2 that you can get cheap from places like Flecktarn.co.uk
Aitch's isn't the same that they sell but a new set from them is acceptable for the kit.

Hey Lex.
Bought the M56 pouches at the Detling militaria fair last year. They were a tenner for the pair as they were battered as hell. Then dyed them black.
The Belt and yoke are from flecktarn. The butt pack is a nylon repro one I've had knocking around for years. Canteen is a US Arctic canteen bought from Detling and dyed black.
The 'stand-in' E-Tool is a WW2 German one. I've been thinking about trying one of the early WW2 US 'T-Handle' E-tools, which might fit in a bit better and looks a bit closer to the 970 Tool shown in the 'Uplifting Primer' book.
