I read the rules about the equipment and water bottles being hard to find. Anyhow, after an airsoft game this weekend, I might have found a suitable ish looking bottle that is a lot easier to get hold of. www.rusmilitary.com/html/c-equip_general.htmThe old soviet bottle at the bottom of the page is fairly similiar to the Imperial pouch and is a lot easier to find than the artic american one you have in the kitlist. I know the water bottle are only recommended kit so would one of these suffice?

The Ruskie canteen looks quite nice, but the arctic ones aren't that difficult to find. At the Beltring militaria fair last weekend we saw a pile of them for 4 quid a throw. The Detling fair's coming up at the end of August and most of the same dealers will be there. I can try and pick up one if I see them.
I hadn't thought of looking at Soviet gear. Might be worth a trawl for small daypacks which have a nice 40k look. We've not really settled on a design or model really.

Ok. I'm only going by what was mentioned in the kitlist and it says there, they're reasonably hard to find. So if thats the recommended one, I'll try and keep an eye out.
I've a fair amount of soviet/russian gear as it's my standard airsofting kit.

I have the info from one of the dealers selling the arctic canteens. He has a pallet of them and he's a 40k fan so if we wanna get a group order together I'll get in touch with him.

Add my name to the list of "wanting one".
Might these come with covers or not?

They come with covers. He was selling them for £4 each and £7 for 2 so I'll see what he'll do if we ask for 20.

They usually come with covers.
btw, I've got two spares in my basement atm, one courtesy of aitch and one given to me by the same stall guy mentioned above (in return for a photo op)...
Might I suggest Drezha and Manius tell me where to post them?

I've been looking at round canteens for awhile for my Imp. kit and have seen these arctic canteens on ebay pretty often. I dont really like the big spout thing, but the only other alternitive are round 1 liter canteens that are 8" wide and that seems to be pretty big to be carrying around on a belt. How wide across are these arctic canteens?

(some what more belatedly)
They're freaking awesome, they don't get in the way and hold enough water for comfyness.
