A company called Op-Tactical have secured licence to run events at MOD property in the Stafford area.

All in all, this sounds a very exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to experience a more “enhanced” military style event. It seems that the aim is to provide events based on a more strict Mil-Sim basis without the Mil-Sim restrictions such as Real-Cap magazines etc.
For example the event this weekend will consist of teams being given a map of the base, list of basic objectives and just told to “basically” get on with it.
From my point of view, being both a Larper and ex-army, that’s ideal as players can fully immerse themselves in the event. It has to be noted that Op-Tactical state a Marshall will be attached to your team at all times, I feel this may be impractical but time will tell on that.
Prices appear VERY cheap (£20-£25 for a day) when you consider the sites being used.
Catering is provided, by pre-booking only, by MOD caterers so you can enjoy so of that lovely tea everyone in the services have enjoyed (yay! Bromide!!)
All in all, I’ll put Op-Tactical on my “to visit” list for the future.
