Hi all,
Going to Games Day and I intend to be the most in character person on our coach. I'll get straight to it; I'd like a uniform. I know you guys have been creating patches and the uniform, and even the lasgun, and I would like to borrow/buy one (no ammo for the lasgun 'cause I think you've made it out of an airsoft gun). If you need me to I can give measurements and anything that you might need to know. Also, any information that you can give me about the uniform would be nice, I've seen a couple of pictures but I believe that pics I saw were works in progress.
Preferably Cadian Kasarkins (Probaly spelt that wrong).
Cheers, Bashkire
EDIT: If anyone knows where I could get a Space Marine outfit that would be nice.

The Lasgun is quite an expensive project to get 100%. I know of one member who was selling his but the main issue will be the Law with regards attaining what is now classed as a Realistic Imitation Firearm. Best option for you, unless your already an Airsoft skirmisher, is to build a mock-up from wood really…still potentially a RiF classed item but far easier for any Police to identify as just a “lump of wood” than the airsoft versions we mainly use.
If your unfamiliar with the Law effecting us in the Airsoft side of the community, you can look it up – its part of the Violent Crime Reduction Act which came into effect late last year.
Anyway…and turn this frown into a smile…the actual Gear is easy to purchase and make!!
Uniform is what’s called PCU ACU (normally just ACU) battle dress uniform (or BDU) which you can buy off the shelf from many on-line army surplus providers (Flecktarn in the UK or places like RSOV in Hong Kong).
We just take the Uniform and put it through a simple dye process using Dylon #34 (Olive Green) either cold water or machine versions will do. Simple and fast (though make sure the powder has a green tinge to it before using as I’ve had a wrongly packaged batch and my last lot ended up BLUE! Lol).
Beret for head – we use Rifle Green – again, cheap from surplus stores.
Beret badge depends on what regiment or unit. Your best bet is to get a cloth/embroidered version done along side your unit patches.
All our embroidered badges were done by – Golden Finishes who are UK based and have NO minimum order level AND are cheap (£4-£6 for a Velcro backed patch, made 100% to order!). You just email them a .jpg of what you want which you can make up easy either via Paint or just downloading something from the web.
The ACU uniforms already have mounting points for many Velcro backed patches and you can sew on your beret patch by hand or get them to add an iron-on backing to it.
Last bits of the uniform are leg gaiters (German WWII ones from somewhere like SOFmilitary.co.uk) and webbing (Alice or LC2 webbing is used by us in Black – from Flecktarn.co.uk).
Body armour is optional. Most have opted for genuine surplus german (Flecktarn) body armour/flakvests as they come with shoulder pauldrons as standard which they’ve then dyed black (Dylon dye again).
However, any paintball body armour in black will do and can be got cheap…I’m currently trying to get to my local surplus store to buy a cheap british Desert DPM flakvest to dye as an option.
Mainly, I think you can be best served buying and making this stuff easily yourself before games day if you can as you can specify some details which might fit better with what YOU want for your impression on the day.
Another thing that’ll help is some metal aquilia etc that you can buy from the Forge World website. They’re intended for models but will hot-glue/apoxy onto webbing pouches or flakvests for that added touch…or you can buy them and make stencils and just spray paint the same on for a less “dress uniform” look.
Hope this helps!

Cheers, Just need to get down to an army surplus store now. I don't mind telling you that I'm 15 (16 when I go to games day) so I'm going to need a bit of a glossary. All these ACUs and BDUs mean very little to me. I know ACU to be Armored Command Unit, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it means something rather different here.
Thanks for all your help, you'll be in my acceptance speech if I win a Golden Demon (lol)!
If you know how much all this might cost, could you give me an idea as this is all coming out of pocket money and birthday money, so an idea of funds would be good.
Thanks again, Bashkire.

ACU Army Combat Uniform and BDU is Battle Dress Uniform, I will provide a link for a website that sells them so you can get an idea on price. As you are 15/16 you will unfortunately be unable to obtain a RIF (Realistic Imitation Firearm) which our las gun conversion is classified as, my advice would be some sort of water pistol dressed up to look like a las pistol. www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/ACU.htmlthat is £34 ish plus postage for a set of pants and jacket. for £25 you can also get a black Viper vest that would do as body armour as the stuff we use is around £50 including dye though you would be better off with a pistol belt and holster. The Viper adjustable holster and web belt look like the best and cheapest options for you coming in at £12.50 ish. hope this helps John

I suggested a wooden mockup...easy to do and certainly would do for games day.

Ok, for those of you who care, I've sent in a couple of pictures of CG guardsmen and Kasrkin and I'm waiting for Landwarrior to give me a price. I only hope I can make the lasgun/hellgun well.

Must admit to be a little confused by your post. “for those of you who care” indicates we’ve offended you in some form, or at least some of us have? I hope that’s not the case. Sent pictures to Landwarrior? Pictures of what? Guess you’re making the lasgun yourself as we’ve suggested as a wooden mock-up (it will do for Gameday I assure you)…perhaps using some PVC piping for the barrel and other round areas on it would be another short-cut for you. Is it the gear you’ve asked Landwarrior about? If so, they normally only sell “Ghost” camo which is a replica mulicam and not the ACU pattern we use. Might look good in Ghost though…depends on the rest of the kit you use. Mulicam isn’t something a lot of people outside of the military or airsoft see that often so if you’re looking for a futuristic pattern it might just do for now (or until its adopted more widely).

Right! More detail needed; 1. Sorry if I sounded rude, but my time at school has taught me that life is hard and (for me) not many people care what you think. So I'm very sorry if I offended any of you by saying that, and please don't think that any of you offended me. 2. I sent pictures of Computer Generated Guardsmen and Kasrkin to Landwarrior so they can see what I want and so they can estimate how much it'll cost for me to buy, although they haven't got back to me for a while so I'm beginning to thank they can't make it or they don't want to. 3. The "ghost" pattern camo material... Bit of help. Like I said above, I'm very new to this whole thing so I'm green up to my eyes. I would assume that ghost is a camo pattern, but it conjours a winter/snowscape camo pattern in my mind. The pictures I sent to Landwarrior are these (NOTE: I have no idea how well this will come out): In case the pictures don't work: img8.imageshack.us/i/kasrkinprevio06.jpg/img16.imageshack.us/i/kasrkinprevio05.jpg/img11.imageshack.us/i/3600100.jpg/img17.imageshack.us/i/3600000.jpg/

TBH mate I wouldn't expect to hear back from LWA... It's not exactly their job to pic your loadout for you, particularly when it's made up of fictional kit... This is LWA's "ghost pattern" kit... www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/Clothing___BDU_Sets.html It's replica of a real world pattern called Multicam. not a bad pattern, though not very guardy... You won't find a pattern like the Karskin gear and you won't find body armour cheap... Motocross/paintball armour from eBay would be your best bet if you want to go down the armour route. If I were you, i'd go to www.flecktarn.co.uk and find a pattern of kit (or get some plain olive kit from your local surplus store for the Cadian look) which you like and get that... Get a set of basic German webbing ( www.flecktarn.co.uk/flwws1ua.html ) and some spraypaint to paint it a contrasting colour to your uniform. Add a beret with an aquila badge and some gaiters ( www.epicmilitaria.co.uk/product.php/829/german-army-gaiters ) and you've got a decent stab at a Guard uniform.
