specifically Blood pact, US style bdu's are available in a variety of ludicrous colours including red which is ideal for the only real army unit the chaos use. A basic p-ball mask with modification could be used to finish off the look. Also they use las guns so thats nice and easy as well. any comments?

yes, that would be an acceptable minimum level of costume I feel. Its clear that by their very nature Chaos Cultist forces should be the easiest and cheapest to put together.
However, if Blood Pack specific I would perhaps like to see body painted scarring and tatoos as depicted in the supporting literature so as to make them stand out even more.

You also need to smell like an abattoir.

I was thinking of adding a black tabard with a gaudy-looking Chaos symbol on it, and instead of the paintball mask, a scary looking gas mask with the same symbol hap-hazardly painted onto it.

if a cultist is ever needed, I have a decent costume sorted already. Its a bit generic though, black robes with hood, gasmask, webbing, chaos tabard etc. looks alright though.

Dont they also wear black body armour? Not so much black as steel plate, usually covered in the remains of the last victim....... usually described as forming part of the battle dress. Probably easy enough to replicate. Cheap Pball mask was suggested as the BP use orrible steel masks, cheap mask and cheap milliput and cheap black spray paint (and masking tape) solve this nicely. The generic "black outfit" for cultists would be easy as well however don't forget that the Pact are Khorne followers and would use its symbolism almost entirely. Any suggestions for Nurgle or Slaanesh? what about Tzeentch?

hi fellas, thought id show myself here as im thinking of going chaos. couple of my mates built some blood pact armour from police riot armour, looks pretty good, will try and get you some photo's next weekend. heres some of those red bdu's you mentioned john- www.combathunting.com/PANTS_B_D_U_S-ULTRA_FORCE_SERENGETI_B_D_U_S_PANTS.htmlwww.combathunting.com/PANTS_B_D_U_S-ULTRA_FORCE_RED_CAMOUFLAGE_B_D_U_S_PANTS.htmldark red boiler suits with suitable weathering would probably look quite good. the important thing i think would be to encourage the majority of chaos players to get the same combats as all the blood pact squaddies would get their kit from the same source then add scavenged equipment as and when. nurgle could be done with bleached/stained/ripped green or light brown kit, and lots of gribbly makeup. rusty steel plate armour perhaps? you could 'throw up' pea soup randomly for effect!

I'm thinking about doing a Cultist load-out for the game that's set for the end of the year; gotta give all you Guardsman types something to shoot at!
So far I'm thinking of: Hooded robe (black or red depending on the ebb and flow of eBay) Tabard in the opposite colour with a suitably large symbol on it. Industrial looking facemask; possibly a respirator or gasmask. Black leather webbing; possibly 40-50s Eastern European mis-matched styles to give a slightly archaic look. Crudely home made pouches, charms and accessories; bone, fake fur, leather and anything else I scavenge for that "lived in" look. Haven't decided on an AEG; since I'm not VCRA registered, may have to be a pretty green job from Airsoft World; probably a G36 to keep me consistent with the look of "liberated" gear.

Thats the sort of thing. Or (as I'd planned as "NPC" kit) boiler suit & hardhat...trim the brim of the hardhat down spray it a more suitable colour and add (spray again) chaos icons on the boiler suit.
AEG could be just about anything as you'll have a mix of stubber, autoguns and lasguns (they all do similar damage in the game rules).
