How many of you have read the new 40K rules supplement, Apocalypse, and noticed the rules to use a model that is rather large? On the Opposite page to the Warhound scout titan, are the Rules to use the WARLORD TITAL, now during 2nd edition(When I made a scout titan from, among other things a toy At-At) I worked using the size comparison chart that a warlord would be 7'+(I stopped counting at that point, it didn't seem worth it), now since they are official rules, doesn't that means they intend to bring out a plastic model? What are your thoughts?

It just sounds mad! I'm assuming you mean the 40k rules and not Epic...if so, that's just nutty!
Tell you what though, Epic has failed to grasp me for years (they changed it until it was useless) so perhaps this is a veiled way of getting people interested in Epic scale again?

Yeah, WH40K, I played epic from the mid 90's, when they changed it to Epic 40K, I lost interest about the same time WH40K 3rd edition came out. I get the feeling you could be right tho. Yet another Business orientated move by GW.

Yeah, apocalypse does not interest me in the slightest, it doesn't even seem to be much of a game- just an excuse for people to have to buy sets of 10 leman russes. Having had a squint at the rules it literally looks like its just bunging down big templates and waving goodbye to whatever was underneath them, you might as well be taking turns to shoot the models off the table with an air pistol...

The concept seens OK, skim off some of the more complicated rules so you can have a fast fire game, but instead of making it so you can use a few of your units, they of course said, "IT MEANS YOU GET TO HAVE 1MILLION MODELS", at £3 a pop for lead infantry I use older style guard models like the Tallarns so I dont have to replace the plastic modells every time i play with em(Cos thats how often GW update them)

I think of Apocalypse as a way for veteran gamers to play games using their entire collections.

Thats the only possible conceivable use for it- the idea of buying a million models just to play apocalypse just doesn't stick with me. I have 2000pts of the old metal tallarns too syd! Some of them have been rush painted a bit though . One day I shall wipe them all and do a complete repaint.

It seems like a nice system, and I am in fact have a few games planned for early next year. But, it's only worth getting into really big games if you are going to use the plastic cadians.
BTW, I have a complete armoured Coy, Full Infantry Coy(300+ models) and Mechanised Coy as well as a few Big models, including my old warhound.(Anyone know where I can get some more AT AT legs?) But if you had a small army of selected troops rather than lots of stuff, then you would be stung.

Yeah, that sounds more like my tallarns- very special heavy, not many core troops. Lots of points heavy stuff but no substance- It was my first army so it sort of evolved with what I loiked the look of at the time. My current army is Cadians though, its going to get to 1500pt and no more of almost solid troop squads with a few russes thrown, a fire support and an AT squad thrown in. I idealy prefer playing shorter fast paced games, I suppose thats why I loved inquisitor (sigh.. my fave GW game by far for both playing and modelling...). Sounds like you have quite a collection, anyway!

I started building mine when all you Neaded were 25% "Core" units, so going into 3rd Edition I was very Special & Armour heavy, so over the past 10 years almsot all I have bought has been troops, tho I keep re-painting I am in the process of getting a mate who used to work for GW to paint em for me.

The opposite is true of me, although I started out during whichever edition was published in 1998 (3?). I started out with an Ork army back in 2001 (age of 9), and then after a year lost interest. About 3 years ago I started collecting seriously again with a Tau army, then after a year also began on an infantry-intensive IG army. Now Apocalypse has come out, and since I bought IA1, I am now adding an unreasonable number of tanks, including 2 super heavies (baneblade with extra sponsons and a macharius). I am also re-painting the whole army to make it into an Inquisitor's personal force.
Oh yeah, and my friend is scratch building a Warlord Titan. Very slowly. My local store (High Wycome) has built the legs of one, then seemed to get bored and gave up.

Isnt that a 7ft plus model in 28mm scale? One of the sheffield stores built some legs as scenery but I dont think they had any intentions of making it a full warlord.
