An interesting look at a differant aspect of Imperial life out on the edge, with insane governers and Xenos taint,a well written and an engaging story however I do feel the need to slap various characters throughout the story (kind of like the kid in the empty house in the horror movie going down into the basement without taking a torch (or shotgun/assault weapon) knowing that 2 of his mates have already kicked the big one) Some interesting stuff with the Tau and an insight into how rogue Traders may operate. This is at least as gritty as the Ghosts novels with death and destruction only ever round the corner (as is the big deal needed to secure the trading houses future).

It has some interesting stuff on how the Tau actually go about "corrupting" worlds (more assimilating really)
