You mean munitorium not ministorum. If you read the Gaunt's Ghosts book there are frequent mentions of pay, going to bars, gambling and whoring and other aspects that you find in the camp follower 'tail' and when on leave planetside. The is actually mention of a mutiny in one peice of fluff when at the end of a crusade an administrative error caused all pay to be lost.
When it comes to IC I'd use pay for buying drinks, Black Market in weaponry and kit (anything non issue has to be captured or bought), illicit substances (lho and obscura) and gambling.
I'll come up with a design for imperial credits and you can all tell me what you think.

Ok, it'll be workable and will add to the Role Play so I'm very interested if we can get a system sorted out.
I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Maybe a bit off topic, but I thought that Lho wasn't an illicit substance, but the 40k version of tobacco (unless 40k has gone 'non-smoking' as well as the UK). A lot of the characters in the 'Ghosts' books seem to smoke, including Dorden, Ana Curth and Gaunt himself on a couple of occasions. A side note, but I'm a smoker and it's important to me... (grr)

Think so, they're referred to as Lho sticks mainly aren't they? Must equate to a cigarette only as Cigars are referred to directly if I remember correctly.
Our only restriction will be UK law meaning - not indoors.

I always took Lho to be a bit more like cannabis than tabaco because of how most seem to look down on it but it's tolerated as it does no real damage. Obscura is of course opium and it's dirivatives and I thought this could lead to some interesting RP situations with addiction and maybe getting into debt.
When it comes to cigarettes and cigars is places of work. As none of us get paid in this system and we can hardly claim charity status I don't really see there being a problem. If anyone expects me to chip my cigar just because I'm clearing a building then they will have to pry it from my jaws themself.

Honestly, I dont think we'll have an issue legally due to numbers and "private" status (I think).

Very much in favour of this, sounds like good rp. Does this mean that I wouldn't be able to start with the .44 magnum I was planning on using for a backup, and have to accquire it in game? And how would the solid ammo (it likes .25g) for it be regulated? I dont smoke but I do enjoy a cigar a few times a year -especially at lrp!

Well, I think we'll allow the gun but without ammo (remember ammo is issued at the start of an event).
You'll have to "blackmarket / beg / borrow / steal" your 0.25g ammo from one of the snipers!
...enter IC coins/credits etc.
Sounds like you're a prime example of a potential success for Cybers proposed system.

Surely it could be worked that the 9th, having already existed for a while I assume, would indeed already have members like our roguesword. What I mean is, folk who already have non-standard equipment.
So that would make starting with the .44 perfectly fine?

Good, Id hate to be without it. (It's my main arm for most airsoft lol!)
I'd assume that I'd have at least a little amount of ammo for it for starting my first game say 12-18 rnds), but from then on it would be strictly RP procurement only throughout the campaign.

Again, sounds perfectly reasonable to me from an RP perspective.

You would of course need to buy it all from the black market.

Whilst we're saying that you'd have to buy all "non-standard" ammunition (or other items) from the black market that isn't to say that you'd start with zero ammunition.
There are two options that I'd like to toy with.
1) Players have an automatic starting ammunition store/source. It will be very limited though and equates to basically what you stole with the weapon in question. This initial source is a one-off for the first event played.
2) Players are allocated "funds" electronically that they can use in downtime (i.e. before and after events) to purchase items from the black market - this may be run on these forums or by direct email. If you use this method to purchase ammunition for your non-standard arms then you can, in theroy, always have ammunition at the start of an event.
Discuss the above but first I'll point out two things:
With item one this is a very limited store (30-50 rounds only). In order to get this the players must advise us when booking of there non-standard arms.
I will personally say that the more detail and more interesting you make the story behind your non-standard weapon…the more rounds you get! I want players to think about there backgrounds so this is another way to encourage this.
Next up with have the “black market”. This will be LIMITED…it is not and never will be the endless source of items that the Imperial Guard QM can be.
The more effort you put into scanning the blackmarket the more you’ll get out. I am actually considering making the “Black Market” a virtually auction house much like ebay. Each active player (i.e. those who have booked and paid for an event) will be allocated virtual credits to spend as they will (either at events or during downtime). They may be also allocated an “oddity” in the form of a minor level item(s) that they can use themselves or….sell on the Black Market.
It’s just a concept at this time but as the system advances, you’ll end up with players having special items or resources that they either can’t or won’t use. Using a virtual Black Market means they can pass these items on to other players and gain virtual funds so they, in turn, can purchase things that they will use such as specialist ammunition.
Of course, this sounds like a head-ache in moderation as the plot team will have to approve each sale and ensure the data is all up to date. IT also poses the issue of real-time black marketing in that such an environment (i.e. at an event) players are out of the direct control of the plot teams meaning that they can loose sync with what is stored virtually.
My initial reaction to this issue would be to develop some method where funds are still held only virtually but accessed by an IC ID card. The ID card is fully IC and can be stolen but means that all transactions are recorded (must go to Games Control to complete a purchase for example).
If all transactions are recorded then this data can be accessed by the Plot team for various uses – for example – you can sell and trade with “enemy” but there would be an inherent chance that you might be caught (I shudder at the penalty a Guardsman would get for selling items to Xenos!). You could get caught doing this at an event (fully IC) or there may be a chance of being caught during downtime IF another player is known to be actively looking for such actions (the investigator would have to make specific enquiries though).
Trading with “enemy” would have greater rewards perhaps.
Still, I’m putting ideas out and I’m very interested in hearing your views.

I like the idea a lot. It will help the development of other factions and increase the realism of the characters. I'm working on an =][= character who will be snooping at any activities that can be considered heresy or trechery.

a nice idea for keeping tabs on the money might be (i know it sounds dodgy) the electronic monopoly since that comes with a few cards and a machine to credit each card with money. this can be taken off with only one machine (given to the shop perhaps). it works in my head
