Manius has put it perfectly!
As long as your sensible, it not a problem to transport RIFs (Realist imtation firearms), I've been going to event with them for nearly ten years on public transport and not had a problem.

When transporting RIFs, keep them unloaded in appropriate cases. Carry documentation of where you are travelling to, a site leaflet of website print out should do. Have contact details of the event organiser, nothing sorts out trouble with police than a swift phone call and explaination of the reason for carrying RIFs. If you are stopped and asked to show what is in your bags, politely ask the officer if you can move to a less public area, this shows concern on your part for public order and not causing a panic.

Another point is to remember...you're not hiding anything so don't worry and don't act like you do. Its too easy to look like your hiding something and attract official notice for no reason.

Hello, Have been airsofting for many years, ww1-modern and figured I would do a cool future piece. Looked at colonial marines but thought imperial guard was more up my alley. I hope to get some great ideas from here and look forward to lurking around.

Glad to hear from you, have a look about we have plenty of kit ideas here! Arguably the best are from a German group but perhaps too "hard core" to skirmish in...the 9th Scarovar stuff is more skirmish friendly and far cheaper too... ;D
If you need anything just let me know.

Hi, my name's Chris and I live in South London. I have played GW games, mainly 40k, for about 15-16 years and have always been a fan of the Guard.
Several months ago I came across Airsoft through a few friends and I became instantly hooked on the idea of taking part. For various reasons I haven't actually been able to attend a skirmish yet, but I have been handed down a few items of gear (Including a G36c). One day whilst trolling through a few forums I came across some posts about you guys and here I am. I absolutely LOVE the concept and I hope even with my absolute lack of experience I can take part in some way.

Welcome indeed Chris!!
Lack of experience isn’t a problem for projects like this…enthusiasm (which you seem to have in spades!) however, is a definite asset.
Lots of concepts here for Imperial Guard loadouts for Airsoft (9th Scarovar mainly) or display/re-enactment (or should that be PRE-enactment?) for you. So, if you want any information on kit, modifications etc just trawl our forums or ask the questions.

Thanks . I do have one or two general questions. Do you meet and skirmish regularly as a regiment?. If so, do you have any pre-requisites before someone can "join up"?. Finally, for the moment, where do you all meet up mainly? (family man, I have to plan ahead). Thanks once again. Chris

Chris, Ahhh.. …no, not really. Some members do manage to get together on a semi-regular basis but as the “group” is really spread out (members from Scotland to Devon) we haven’t yet had a chance to meet as what you’d call a full team/unit. I have put it forward for us to hold a full Live Role Play event later this year but due to the costs involved (circa £55 a head) it doesn’t look like that’ll be going ahead at this time. Next option is to try and gather for one or more of the larger Airsoft weekend events which could be termed “national” such as those held at Sennybridge but that’s to be discussed. Kit requirements for the 9th itself is more or less as I’ve described already here... grimdarkness40k.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=40kd&thread=224&page=1….so match that and you’re there. Next phase I’m trying to concentrate on now is getting those of us with full (or nearly full) kit together in one place at one time and as I’m a family man as well, that can prove problematic as you might know. If we could get 6-10 of us in full kit at a skirmish somewhere…we’d make a massive impression that’s for sure. We have no membership fee's or anything like that at the moment either.

And I'm back. Remember me ? Shame to see that this has gone quiet. I've repurchased most of the kit again now I'm back working and I'm beginning to use it at airsoft sites now. (I've now moved to Loughborough so my local site is Grange Farm).
